JAMMU, Oct 16: GGM Science College emerged victorious in the Pencak Silat (Men & Women) Inter-College competitions organized by Cluster University of Jammu, held at GGM Science College here today.
The event was graced by Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, who served as the chief guest. In the Women’s section, GGM Science College secured the trophy with a total of 13 points, comprising 3 Gold and 2 Silver medals. The runner-up, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce secured 8 points, earning 2 Gold and 1 Silver medal.
In the Men’s section, GGM Science College also took home the trophy, accumulating 24 points with 2 Gold, 7 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals. The runner-up, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, finished with 19 points, winning 4 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals. Govt. MAM College secured third place with 15 points, having won 5 Gold medals.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Prof. Ashaq Hussain, Prof. Devinder Kumar Sharma, Smt. Neenu Sawhney (Physical Director, Govt. MAM College), Ravi Kumar (Physical Director, SPMR College of Commerce), Miss Kajal Premi (Physical Director, GCW Gandhi Nagar) and Neelam Chalotra (Assistant Physical Director, Govt. MAM College). The matches were officiated by Miss Komal Dhiman, Kamaljeet Bhogal, and Tanisha Pandoh.
