JAMMU, Dec 14: GGM Science College lifted Inter-collegiate boxing men championship by obtaining 26 points and Government MAM College was the runner up with 23 points and Government SPMR College of Commerce remained at 3rd place with 18 points, here today.
The event was organized by Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) wherein Dr Vinod Bakshi Sports Coordinator CLUJ and Physical Director GGM Science College were the chief guests of the final day.
In 46-48 kg, Sunny Parihar of GGM Science College and Davinder Kumar of SPMR Commerce College won gold and silver medals respectively, while in 51 – 54 kg, the gold and silver medals were secured by Prajwal Jamwal of SPMR Commerce College and Ayush Dogra of MAM College and 63.5- 67 kg, the top three medals were clinched Shikshit Sharma of GGM Science, Munish Sharma of MAM College and Vishal Bhagat of GGM Science College respectively.
In 67-71 kg, gold, silver and bronze medals were won by Nitish Kumar of GGM Science, Manil Wadher of SPMR Commerce and Gourav Malhotra of MAM College respectively, whereas in 71 -75 kg, Keshav Dev of MAM College, Anil Kumar of GGM Science and Anil Kumar Sharma of SPMR Commerce won top three medals respectively and in 75-80 kg, first two medals were clinched by Dinesh Verma of MAM College and Arun Singh Jamwal of GGM Science College respectively.
In 80-86 kg, gold and silver medals were scored by Sahil Basotra of GGM Science and Akilesh Padha of MAM College respectively, whereas in 86-92 kg, gold and silver were claimed by Vivek Kumar of SPMR Commerce College and Aman Bhagat of MAM College respectively.
Akash Sharma (54-57 kg) of MAM College, Satyam Khajuria (57-60 kg) of GGM Science College and Wajid Hussain (63-63.5 kg) of Govt MAM College were among the individual gold medal holders.
The tournament was organized under the supervision of Aijaz Malik, Physical Director SPMR College of Commerce and under the overall supervision of Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sports Coordinator CLUJ and Physical Director GGM Science College Jammu.
Neenu Sawhney, Physical Director MAM College, Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director GDC Ramban and Neelam Devi were present during the event.
The bouts were officiated by Anil Kumar, Sajad Pathan, Goutam Sharma, Aman Sangral, Sarfaraz Chowdhary and Zahid Beig.
