JAMMU, Nov 20: NSS Units of GGM Science College, Jammu and Gandhian Study Center organized a seminar on the theme “Role of Youth in the preservation of Heritage “ as part of celebration of Heritage week, under the supervision of Dr Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme Officer, here.
The chief guest on the occasion was Prof (Dr) TA Kawoos, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K Govt.
The seminar was attended by around 200 students, alongwith a number of faculty members. The chief guest and other guests were welcomed by Dr Ajeet Angral, Nodal Principal, Jammu Division Colleges who explained in detail the importance of preservation of heritage.
The chief guest in his address, while appreciating the role of College Administration and NSS Units in organizing the seminar, advised the students to become role models in spreading the message of preservation of heritage as India is having a rich heritage in its buildings, culture and traditions as the youth have specific role in the preservation of same.
Ten students participated in the seminar, wherein Shivali, B.Sc. Part- III, Monika Bhau, B.Sc. Part- III and Kunal Saini, B.Sc. Semester- III were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the seminar.
The judges of the seminar were Dr. Kuldeep Singh, HoD Botany, Dr. Ranvijay Singh, HoD, Zoology and Prof. Ruth Masih.
The programme was anchored by Monika Bhau and Shivali.
