JAMMU, Oct 5: The Department of Botany, GGM Science College, Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Remote Sensing conducted a Symposium and Painting Competition on the topic ‘Protecting Our Environment for Generations to come’, here today.
Vinod Kumar Raina, Regional Director, Environment and Remote Sensing was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Satinder Singh, Principal GGM Science college was the guest of honour.
Dr Satinder Singh while speaking on the occasion said that the symposium was held to generate awareness and awakening among the students for vital need of protecting environment.
Sushil Sharma DFO, Environment and Remote Sensing presided over the function.
Prof Sushma Mam, Prof Ganjeet Singh and Irshad Masoom, Range Officer acted as jury members to adjudge the performance of the participants.
In symposium the Ist prize was won by Sonia Sharma while Muqeem Sheikh and Munish Parihar won second and third prize respectively. Preeti Dingra bagged the consolation prize.
In painting the Ist prize was won by Niaz Khan, while Ishat Bambroo and Javed Ahmed won second and third prize, while consolation prize went to Rohit Koul and Rohil Gupta.
