Ghagwal police rescues 15 bovine animals, seizes truck

SAMBA, Mar 26: Ghagwal police headed by Inspector, Rajeev Kumar, SHO, Police Station, Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Headquarters, Samba during vehicle checking at a naka on NHW in Tapyal, rescued 15 bovine animals which were laden in the vehicle bearing Registration Number HR47C-6010 and were being transported illegally.
Police said that the naka party signaled the truck to stop which was coming from Kathua side. During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found laden inside it. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 29/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
It may be recalled that the vigorous drive against the bovine smugglers has been launched by District Police Samba on the directives of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba.
