Ghagwal police seizes 900 gms of heroin, arrests 3 narco smugglers

SAMBA, Jan 19: In a major breakthrough in its war against drugs, district police Samba has arrested three narcotics smugglers and recovered 900 grams of Heroin (Chitta) at naka NHW Tapyal in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of huge consignment of narcotics from Kashmir towards Punjab, a Police team of PS Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs. Samba laid a strong vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal and intercepted one Alto Car bearing registration number JK16A-6287 which was coming from Valley and heading toward Punjab side.
During checking of the vehicle, a total 900 grams of Heroin (Chitta) was recovered which was concealed tactically to avoid being noticed during search.
The accused persons identified as Muneer Ahmed Khan (driver) S/o Haji Gul Rehman Khan R/O Wayil Wooder-Gotti Bagh, Kangan, Ganderbal along with his two associates Mohammad. Hamid, S/o Lal Din R/O Sallan, Hiranagar, Kathua and Abdul Rashid, S/o BarkatUllah R/O RakhSarkar-Sallan, Hiranagar have been arrested on spot and the recovered contraband item was also seized.
In the connection, a case FIR No. 16/2021 under relevant section of NDPS Act registered at PS Ghagwal and further investigation started.
