JAMMU, Aug 23: Guru Harkrishan Public School (GHPS), Nanak Nagar, Jammu drubbed Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi by (2-0) to win the title trophy of the ongoing Under-19 girls tug-of war championship, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here today.
Earlier, in the semifinals, GHPS outplayed HSS Canal Road by (2-0) and HSS Mubarak Mandi outclassed St Peters HSS Karan Bagh, Jammu again by (2-0).
Meanwhile, in the Yoga Under-19 girls, Pooja of Dewan Badri Nath (DBN) School, Jammu bagged first place, Sapna of SOS Gole Gujral got second and Shivalika of DBN School claimed third place.
The tug-of-war event was held under the supervision of Rajinder Choudhary, lecturer in physical education, while the matches were officiated by Ravinder Singh, Ajay Sharma, Iqbal Kour, Anita Kour, Monika Sharma and Kohli.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu, while Principal Guru Harkrishan Public School, Nanak Nagar Jammu, Col Gian Singh Sudan was the chief guest in today’s proceedings.
