JAMMU, May 19: Players continue to vie for top honours in the ongoing Inter School and Zonal Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competitions for under 14 and 17 boys in the disciplines of Judo, Gymnastic, Rope Skipping and Karate concluded today at Indoor Complex of MA Stadium.
In under 14 Judo (under -30 kg category), Shivam of BSF School and Aditya Singh of GD Goenka, bagged first and second positions, respectively whereas in -35 kg category, Ayush Raina of GD Goenka secured 1st position and Akshay of BSF School got 2nd position. In 40 kg category, Sunil of SOS claimed 1st position and Kunal Sharma of BSF School secured 2nd position whereas in 45 kg category, Munish of RS Public School and Arnav Gupta of DPS bagged 1st and 2nd positions, respectively. In -50 kg category, Surya Pratap of GD Goneka and Himanshu of SOS secured 1st and 2nd positions, respectively while in +50 kg category, Varun Sharma of Vimal Vidyalaya bagged 1st position and Mohd Sahil of MS Sitni got second position.
In under 17 Judo (under -40 kg category), Aditya of SOS secured 1st position and Mohit of Manik Public School got second position whereas in 45 kg category, Rohit of KC Public School claimed 1st position and Manan of SOS got second position. In 50 kg category, Areen of GD Goenka bagged 1st position and Romin of KC International got second position whereas in 55 kg category, Parteek Bali of GD Goenka and Niket of HS Rajpura secured 1st and second positions respectively. In 60kg category, Ketan of GD Goenka got 1st position and Arjun of SOS bagged 2nd position while in 65 kg category, Ayush of GD Goenka claimed 1st position and Ushant of APS Kaluchak got second position. In 71 kg category, Paramveer of SOS and Ritesh of GD Goenka bagged 1st and 2nd positions, respectively while in +71 kg category, Jiteshwar of GD Goenka got 1st position while Sahil of Manik Public School secured 2nd position.
In under 17 Rope Skeeping (Speed Sprint 30 sec), Ankur of DPS clinched 1st position while Jeevan of APS Domana and Aryan of KC International bagged 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. In Speed Sprint 3 minute, Abhinav of APS Domana got 1st position, Sourab of KC International secured 2nd position and Aryan of KC Gurukul claimed 3rd position. In Freestyle (45-60 sec), Sushant of APS Domana and Surya of KC International clinched 1st and 2nd positions, respectively whereas Sujan Malik of Model Academy got 3rd position. In Double under 30 sec, Saksham of APS Domana bagged 1st position while Saqib of Model Academy and Vishal of GHS Sohanjana secured 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
In under 14 Rope Skeeping (Speed endorsement 3 minute), Kirtan of KC Gurukul clinched 1st position and Ranveer of Gurunanak Public School and Vishal of APS Domana got 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively whereas in Speed Sprint 30 sec, Keshav of Model Academy and Vikram of GNPS bagged 1st and 2nd positions, respectively while Satvik of KC Gurukul secured 3rd position.
In under 17 Karate, Sourav clinched 1st position in 35 kg category, Satvant of Jammu Sanskriti School got 1st position in -40 kg category, Aviraj of KC public School bagged 1st position in -45 kg category and Sahil of GHS Nowabad emerges winner in -50 kg category while in -55 kg category, Fahad secured 1st position, Sayam of SOS emerged winner in 60 kg category, Sahil secured 1st position in 65 kg category and Harsimran got 1st position in 70 kg category.
In under 14 Yoga event, Hamda of DPS got 1st position while Pawan of MS Narwal Pain and Ketan of Banyan International School bagged 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. In under 17 Yoga, Tarun secured 1st position, Sonu of MS Narwal Pain got 2nd position and Arun of Bal Bharti claimed 3rd position.
In under 14 Gymnastic (Team), Ayush Gupta of Shanti Saroop Public School, Yatharath of DPS, Sourab of GHS Pull Tawi, Surya Pratap of Banyan International and Dilpreet and Manishdeep emerged winner while Bhuvan, Goutam and Paras of Banyan International, Manav of DPS, Gourav of May Fair Higher Secondary School and Chirag emerged winner in under 14 Gymnastic.
Udhampur: Two-day district level inter zonal tournament for boys and girls (in under 14 and under 17 categories) in the discipline of Tennisball, Cricket and Yoga, and Inter school tournament in Basketball concluded at Sports Stadium, Udhampur.
In Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament for under 17 boys, Zone Udhampur clinched the final title by defeating Zone Tikri by 23 scores while in under 17 girls, APS Udhampur defeated KC Gurukul high School by 5-3. In under 14 girls, APS Udhampur defeated DPS by 4-2.
In under 14 girls Yoga event, Poonam Devi of Zone Udhampur secured 1st position whereas Pooja Devi of Zone Ramnagar and Sakshi Devi of Zone Udhampur bagged 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. In under 17 girls Yoga, Usha Devi of Zone Ramnagar and Ritika of Zone Babey got 1st and 2nd positions, respectively while Sunakshi Devi of Zone Majalla secured 3rd position.
Rajouri: The two-day inter-school tournament in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling under the age group of 17 years in boys section began today at Sunderbani.
In Kho-Kho, HS Thandapani thrashed HSS Kalideh by 10 points while in Volleyball HSS Balnara defeated HSS Bajabain by 2-0 set.
Bhaderwah: In under 17 Volleyball Tournament, Hs Nichla Thara beat HS Bhalra while in under 14 Kho-Kho, Adarsh Bhawan thrashed BVM. In Kabaddi, BVM defeated MS Gatha.
