SAMBA, Sept 12: Govt Higher Secondary School Ramgarh held a seminar on ‘Tendency of rising drug abuse among youth ‘ in the School premises, here today.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ramesh Sahrma, Lecturer in Education ,who threw light on the causes which lure youth into the world of drugs. He also apprised the youth about the dangerous consequences of drug addiction.
Twelve students from their respective Houses spoke on the occasion and the atmosphere of the School was charged with academic vibes and positivity.
The first, second and third prize went to Vaishali, Megha, Sahil, Farooq and Inderjeet Kour.
Lecturers Navin Katoch and Virender Choudhary also spoke on the occasion.
Principal of the School, J S Manhas, while appreciating the students for their participation, advised them to remain away from drug menace and serve as agents in spreading the awareness about drug abuse.
A pledge to remain away from drugs was also administered to the students and the staff.
