POONCH, Nov 10: Govt Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sawjian dominated in District level Kala Utsav, organised by Project Director Samagra Shiksha J&K in collaboration with Director School Education Jammu.
In this connection a two day District level competition was organised at Model Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch in which 112 students from various secondary schools and high schools of all the zones participated.
The competition was organised in Vocal Music Classical, Vocal Music Traditional, Dance Classical, Dance Traditional, Visual Arts 2D, Visual Arts 3D, Mono Acting, indigenous toy making and instrumental music wherein GHSS Sawjian dominated the competition by bagging four first positions in the instrumental music in female category, 3-D visual arts both male and female category and ingenious toys making male category.
The School also bagged four 2nd positions in classical singing female, mono acting both male and female and classical dance female category. In folk singing, Ruksana Banday of the School got 3rd position. The students who won first positions are Rabia Mir, Sajad Ahmed, Shajahan Yaseen and Saima Banday.
Tabir Shah, Misbaah Banday & Afsana Koser won 2nd positions. The competition was prepared for the competition under the guidance of Saleem Jahangir Reshi, Cultural Cell In-charge of Model Higher Secondary School Swajian and Qamer-un-Nissa Bhatti.
Joint Director School Education Choudhary Mohd Ashraf was the chief guest on the occasion. He appreciated the District Cultural Cell Poonch for successfully organising the event, wherein Fayaz Arzoo conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Distinct Education Planning Officer Poonch Narinder Mohan Suri was guest of honour. The vote of thanks was presented by District in-charge culture cell, Yugal Kishore Sharma.
