JAMMU, May 10: An 18-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the girl identified as Rimpy Kumari daughter of Raj Kumar, a resident of Kotli, Mian Fateh allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence this morning following which she was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu by the family members.
However, the girl expired there during treatment. After conducting postmortem, the body of the girl was handed over to her legal heirs.
The concerned police had already taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation.
