SRINAGAR, Oct 9: A girl drowned in river Jhelum in Baramulla district.
A police spokesman said that 20 years old girl, Tahira Bano, daughter of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din was drowned in river Jehlum near village Chakala, Baramulla. Efforts are on to retrieve the body of the girl from the river.
Meanwhile, an unidentified person aged about 60 years mentally challenged fell from a culvert near Kheribal crossing, Anantnag. However, the locals came to the rescue and shifted him to the District Hospital Anantnag, where he succumbed to his injuries. The body of the deceased is lying in mortuary hospital Anantnag.
