UDHAMPUR, Oct 18: A young girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her house in Kamel Danga, here today.
The deceased has been identified as Manisha Devi (18), daughter of Romesh Kumar. She consumed some poisonous substance last night and fell unconscious. The family members rushed her to District Hospital Udhampur where she breathed her last despite hectic efforts by the doctors.
Later, body of the deceased was handed over to the family members after postmortem and other legal formalities.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
