JAMMU, Feb 23: In the ongoing Border Battle Hockey Cup 2024, Girls Category matches were inaugurated here today.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Brigadier Mudit Mahajan, Commandant 93 Infantry Brigade along with Taizeem Akhter DDC, Chairperson. A total of eight teams in boys category and six teams in girls participated in the mega event. Pertinent to mention that for the first time teams from outside J&K UT are also participating in the tournament.
Poonch XI beat Sujanpur Hockey Club by 4-2 goals in the first match of the day in boys category, in second match of the day HFB NCR Sonipat Hockey club beat Bandurakh Hockey Club by 5-0 goals in women category. In Girls category KK Hockey Club Jammu beat Poonch XI by 6-0 goals while Stadium XI Jammu beat Srinagar XI by 8-0 goals.
