JAMMU, Jan 16: The ‘Educational-cum-Motivational Tour’ organised for the school children of far flung border areas of Rajouri District by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) was flagged in by Rashmi Hooda, Regional president, AWWA of the White Knight Corps, here today.
The tour was organised under Operation Sadbhavna, with an aim to expose children to the historical and cultural diversity of the country and the rapid development taking place in the different fields.
During the eight days tour, the students visited the places like Bada Imambara, Rumi Darwaja, Clock Tower, Lucknow Zoo, Marine Drive and Ambedkar Park at Lucknow and Nawab Ganj Bird Centaury, Leather Tech Park, JP Pvt Ltd, Moti Jheel at Kanpur. The children were made to interact with their peers and other eminent and learned people of the society. The interaction with Transport Minister of Uttar Pradesh was one of the highlights of the tour.
Farida Kouser, student of the Government Higher Secondary School, Ghambir Mughlan said that she felt motivated after seeing as to how girls were contributing towards growth in every field, adding that she looks forward to contribute in her own way towards progress and development in the State.
