JAMMU, Dec 4: Inter-School Gita Recitation Competition was conducted by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan at the Auditorium of Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1, Gandhi Nagar, here.
Around 200 sutdents of different Kendriya Vidyalayas situated in Jammu and its periphery participated in the competition. Rakesh Sharma, IG, BSF, Paloura was the chief guest and A S Gill, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, Jammu Region was the guest of honour, while Tilak Raj Choudhary, Principal KV No-1, Jammu was the special guest and Prof Ramnuja Devanathan, Principal, RSS, Jammu, Chairperson was also present on the occasion.
The programme started with welcome song in Sanskrit by the students of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, which was followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
While speaking, the chief guest said that his family is associated with Sanskrit languages and he welcomed the efforts made by the Sansthan.
A S Gill, T R Choudhary and Prof Ramanuja Devanathan spoke on the occasion.
The prizes were distributed by the dignitaries among the students on the occasion.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks.
