JAMMU, Oct 28: Guru Nanak Cricket Club (GNCC) outplayed Media-XI in the inaugural tie of the Diwali Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Khalsa Cricket Club, at Baba Jhule Shah ground, Talab Tillo, here today.
Batting first, Media-XI set a target of 134 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Amit was the highest scorer with 42 runs, while Irfan made 17 runs and skipper Imran Mir chipped in 13 runs.
For GNCC side, Parvinder, Gurpreet and Kawalpreet scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, GNCC chased the target in 18 overs by losing 7 wickets. Gurpreet was the highest scorer with 56 runs, while Ranjan made 18 runs and Parvinder scored 16 runs.
For Media-XI side, Ranjeet was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, while Rahul and Achit took one wicket each.
Gurpreet Singh of GNCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The match was officiated by Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh as umpires, while Surinder maintained the scorecard.
