JAMMU, Feb 24: Guru Nanak Cricket Club (GNCC) defeated Rising Cricket Club by 41 runs to advance in the ongoing Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Mandal Cricket ground, here.
Batting first, GNCC scored a formidable total of 171 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Rahul Jamwal played a brilliant innings of 76 runs off just 34 balls, studded with 8 fours and 4 sixes, while Charanjeet Singh, Shiva and Rahul contributed 28, 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Rising CC, Sanjay bagged 3 wickets, Rishab and Amar took 2 wickets each and Rajan claimed one.
Rising Club in reply bundled out for 130 runs, with Tejeshwatr Singh contributing 32 eruns, while Gurdeep, Vinod and Rishab chipped in with 22, 21 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For GNCC, Vipan Singh and KD Singh captured 3 wickets each, while Rahul took 2 and Sunny and Balbir one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Rakesh Bawa and Gulshan Kumar as umpires, while Sachin Singh was the scorer and Rohan Bharti was the commentator.
