JAMMU, Nov 9: The All India Inter-University Fencing Championship (Men & Women) 2024-25 continued on its third day at the University Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, with intense competition among teams in various categories.
The event, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, saw universities from across India competing in the Foil Men, Epee Women and Sabre Women team events.
Guru Nanak Dev University (G.N.D.U), Amritsar, emerged as a major winner, securing gold in the Foil Men and Sabre Women categories, while Punjab University, Chandigarh, claimed the gold in the Epee Women event. Other top-performing universities included Guru Kashi University, Bathinda, which won silver in the Foil Men category, and Lovely Professional University, which secured bronze in both the Foil Men and Sabre Women events.
The University of Jammu also performed well, earning notable rankings in both the Epee Women and Sabre Women events. Other universities like Rabindranath Tagore University, M.D.U Rohtak, Punjabi University, Patiala and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, placed among the top rankings in various categories.
The competition showcased excellent performances from all participating teams, with universities from different parts of India demonstrating their fencing skills and teamwork. The event concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates to the winners, celebrating the hard work and talent of all the student-athletes involved.
