GNNHC, MBS Hockey Club register thrilling wins

JAMMU, Dec 15: Guru Nanak Nagar Hockey Club (GNNHC) and MBS Hockey Club Simbal Camp registered thrilling victories over their rivals in the ongoing 3rd Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Santpura Danna Charitable Trust, Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu, under the aegis of Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here today.
In the first match, GNNHC defeated Kashmir XI in a thrilling finish by (6-5) via tie-breaker.
Earlier, in the stipulated time, none of the teams could manage to score goals and the match ended (0-0) draw and was later-on decided via tie-breaker, wherein GNNHC scripted a (6-5) win. The goal scorers for GNNHC were Amandeep (2), Rathi (2), Devinder (1) and Rakesh (1), while from Kashmir XI, Rajinder scored 2 goals, while Hardeep, Gurdeep and Dharamveer netted one goal each.
S Waryam Singh, veteran hockey player was the chief guest in the match, while Swarn Singh, ARTO Jammu was the guest of honour.
In another match, MBS Hockey Club, Simbal Camp defeated Hira Nagar Club by (3-2). For MBS, Gagandeep Singh scored goal in 7th minute, while Navjot Singh and Jaspinder Singh pelted goals in 40th and 56th minutes respectively. Sahil scored the first goal for Hira Nagar Club in 3rd minute, while Gourav netted the second one in 60th minute.
Ashwani Khajuria was the chief guest during the match, while Jugal Kishore Sharma, ARTO was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Charanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Jagjit Singh, Joginder Singh, Daljeet Singh Bhatia, Amarjeet Singh and Kulwant Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, 20-Punjab will take on Khalsa Club Gole Gujral at 1:30 pm, while BSF Kashmir will lock horns with Zorawar Club Satwari at 3 pm.
