‘Go Green’ drive held on NCC Day

UDHAMPUR, Nov 24: To commemorate the 66th Anniversary of National Cadet Corps, 150 cadets from NCC Directorate, New Delhi undertook tree plantation in the Asola Wild Life Sanctuary, Chhatapur, on Sunday.
The tree plantation drive was carried out in co-ordination with 132 TA Bn (Eco) RAJPUT.
DG NCC, Lt Gen Aniruddha Chakravarty along with other senior NCC officers and staff also participated in the drive and interacted with the cadets.
While speaking on the occasion, he said that this plantation drive will further increase the green expanse of Delhi which is the need of the day.
NCC has been actively involved in Social Service and Community development programmes which include cleanliness drive, Blood Donation Camps, Adult Education, Cancer Awareness, Pulse Polio and AIDS Awareness, etc.
The “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” has been recently added to the training curriculum of the NCC which envisages 100 hours of “Shram Daan” every year.
