JAMMU, Oct 28: GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust hosted the mega event Literary Fest 2017 with zeal and zest, here today.
A total of 14 renowned CBSE schools, namely, Heritage School; Jodhamal Public School; APS, Damana; Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu; JP World School; Delhi Public School, Kathua; Doon International School; MHAC School Nagbani; SOS Hermann Gmeiner School; Mount Litera Zee School, Kathua; KC Gurukul Jammu and Model Academy participated in it.
The Literary Fest 2017 format included 8 literary genres, namely, Show & Tell for class III participants, Spell Bee for class IV, Spin A Yarn for class V, Lingua Franca Teasers (Vocab Quiz) for class VI, Picture Perfect (Design a book cover on the randomly chosen theme) for class VII, Play Hamlet (extempore speech on the randomly chosen topic) for class VIII, Theatrical Pot Pourri (Enactment of an extract from any Shakespearean play) for classes IX & X, and Turn the Tables (a Turn Coat Debate on the randomly chosen topic) for classes XI & XII.
The Head boy Aryan Sharma and the Head girl Malvika Kapoor welcomed the guests.
Rajesh Rathore, Principal, GD Goenka Public School, Jammu in his  speech encouraged the participants and emphasized on the importance of such literary activities in today’s fast paced life.
The chief guest of the event was Sandeep Chowdhary, SP City Jammu South. He impressed everyone with his smart turn out and brilliant speech.
GD Goenka Public School Jammu was adjudged the overall Champion but being the host school didn’t claim for the Rolling Champion Trophy and graciously handed over it to the first Runners Up, Heritage School, Jammu. Jodhamal Public School stood second Runners-Up. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the chief guest Sandeep Chowdhary, Rahul Bansal, Sanya Bansal and Rajesh Rathore, the Principal.
The Literary Fest also witnessed the gracious presence of JS Dhami,  Principal Heritage School Jammu and Nirmal Mahna, Principal, DPS Kathua.
