JAMMU, Apr 3: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohan Lal Bhagat along with SDM Akhnoor Gopal Singh, SDPO Varun Jandial, and SHO Ravi Singh Parihar inaugurated 1st Gold Badminton Championship on the theme ‘Khelo Akhnoor to beat drug mence’ at Indoor Stadium Akhnoor, here today.
The tournament is being organised by GS Sports Club under the supervision of Atul Sudan, president of the Club.
Speaking on the occasion, the SDPO Varun Jandial congratulated the organizing committee for organizing the event. “It was a good sign that the youth of the areas are moving towards positive direction by organising such event,” he added.
He urged the youth to involve more and more young people in such sports events, so that they can take the benefit of the game and stay healthy.
“It is good step to engage people of all age groups together in sports activities,” said SDM Akhnoor Gopal Singh and requested prominent people and civil society of Akhnoor to play a vigilant role in the society to fight against the menace of drugs.
SSP Mohan Lal urged upon the civil society present in the event to cooperate and support the administration in fighting against drug menace and assured that he will be always available for youth of the area for any kind of counselling.
Sushant Gupta chairman of the Club administered the oath to all participants and asked them to stay away from the drugs.
The event is being sponsored by Sapolia Dental Clinic, Spartan Taxation and Consultancy Services, Edu Hub Institute and JK Education Consultancy.
Anil Sharma, Vishal Sapolia, Radhey Sharma, Sham Singh Langeh, Mohit Mehra, Tarsem Sharma, Vishal Sharma, Rajan Beragi, Varun Sharma, Adarsh Bakshi, Shubham Rajput, Ashish Choudhary and many others were among the organisers of the event.
