Gold futures move down after Yellen talk

NEW DELHI, July 16:  Gold futures fell 0.25 per cent to Rs 26,027 per 10 grams today as participants went about reducing exposure in tandem with a global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October fell Rs 65, or 0.27 per cent, to trade at Rs 26,027 per 10 grams in a turnover of 5 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August shed Rs 55, or 0.23 per cent, at Rs 25,788 per 10 grams in a turnover of 664 lots.
Globally, gold lost as much as 0.3 per cent to trade at four-month low of USD 1,146.19 in Singapore today.
Analysts said a weakening trend overseas after US Fed Chair Janet Yellen indicated an interest rate hike this year, boosting the dollar and curbing demand for the precious metal as an asset, weighed on gold prices. (PTI)
