GoM appealed to include daily wagers’ issue in agenda

JAMMU, Apr 28: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Dr Nirmal Singh to include among other things the issue of regularization of about 61000 daily rated workers engaged in various State Government Departments, in the agenda to be discussed with Union Ministers during the former’s visit to New Delhi.
Addressing the media persons here at Gandhi Nagar, NMC president Subhash Shastri stressed upon the GoM to fulfill their commitment to seek special package of Rs 2000 crore to meet the expenditure on regularization of such daily rated workers in one go.
He also stressed on the need for an early creation of separate heads in all concerned departments and separate budgetary allocation so that till their regularization the daily wagers may able to get their monthly wages regularly and timely.
