LOS ANGELES, Oct 14: Drama series ‘The Good Wife’ is set to get a Russian remake.
Sony Pictures Television is expanding into drama production and local versions of “Doc Martin” and “Mad Dogs” will also be made as the country continues to see remakes of popular foreign shows, said The Hollywood Reporter.
The production company has signed a development deal with national network NTV to produce local adaptations of the CBS hit show.
“‘Mad Dogs’ and ‘The Good Wife’ are both very interesting formats, and we are happy that they will be developed for NTV by Lean-M, a company that is well-known in Russia for its quality adaptations of foreign formats for the Russian market,” said Timur Weinstein, NTV’s general producer.
The story revolves around Alicia and her two children, dealing with life, after her husband Peter Florrick, a former State attorney, is imprisoned for a sex and corruption scandal. (PTI)
