Government plans one more all-party meet to break Parliament impasse

NEW DELHI: Blaming the Opposition for washout of half of the Monsoon session, the Government today proposed another all-party meeting on Monday to break the parliamentary logjam.
Addressing a press briefing after both the Houses were adjourned without transacting any business for the second consecutive week, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said the government would be going to all parties with a specific agenda and open mind for discussion on all the important matters.
Accusing the Opposition for continued disruptions, he said the Congress may claim victory by living up to their promised threat of not allowing Parliament to function, but “the nation has lost out very badly.”
“It is for the Congress to introspect and decide whether they want to be partners in development or continue disruption,” he asked. (AGENCIES)
