Governor, CM greet people on Mahanavami, Dussehra

SRINAGAR, Oct 2: Governor N. N. Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today felicitated the people on the festivals of Mahanavami and Dussehra and hoped that these auspicious occasions would be the harbingers of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of greetings, the Governor said that these festivals symbolize the triumph of virtue and righteousness over evil and darkness. He observed that these festivals, which are a glorious heritage of our pluralistic traditions, revive and strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in his message has highlighted the spirit of celebrating holy occasions together and in an atmosphere of amity.
He underscored the need to remember flood affected families of the State while celebrating Mahanavami and Dussehra.
Omar Abdullah asked the people to extend whole hearted support to the flood sufferers for their rehabilitation. He prayed for well being of the people and the State.
