JAMMU, Nov 6: Govind Cricket Club defeated PCC by 20 runs in a high scoring match of the Diwali Cup Cricket Tournament, being organized by Khalsa Cricket Club at Baba Julla cricket ground, Camp Gole Gujral, here today.
Batting first, GCC scored a decent total of 185 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sukhinder top scored with 28 runs, while Raman and Sabi contributed 25 and 22 runs respectively. For PCC, Kalu and Diwakar took 2 wickets each, while Shampoo claimed one.
In reply, PCC managed to score 165 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by 20 runs. Shampoo, Lucky and Param Pal contributed 37, 31 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For GCC, Sukhvinder took 3 wickets, Manpreet bagged 2 and KK claimed one. Sukhvinder of GCC was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Gagandeep and Rajan as umpires, while Harpreet Singh was the scorer.
