Govt approves ex-gratia in man-animal conflict

JAMMU, July 23: Government today issued order for the payment of ex-gratia relief for death/injuries caused to the human lives on account of man-animal conflict cases.
According to an order issued by Secretary, Department of Forest, Muhammad Afzal, Rs 3 lakh ex-gratia will be granted in case of death and permanent disability (handicapness of 40 per cent or more) in the man-animal conflicts, whereas Rs 1 lakh for grievous injuries (an injury which may not result in permanent disability but requires hospitalization for more than 48 hours for recovering from injury) and Rs 15,000 to those who received minor injuries (an injury which is of first aid nature or which did not require hospitalization for duration of more than 48 hours).
