JAMMU, Oct 26: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today expressed its concern over the plight of daily wagers of Jal Shakti Department as Jammu and Kashmir Government has brought black Diwali for them by not paying wages on this important and big festival.
In a press statement issued by Aam Aadmi Party, it has been stated that daily wagers of Jal Shakti Department as well as different other departments of Jammu and Kashmir Government are on protest dharna since long but Jammu and Kashmir Government is completely insensitive towards their issue and no step is being taken for redressal of their grievances and demands which are completely genuine in nature.
“Daily wagers are backbone of Government and are important part of public services delivery system and duties performed by these daily wagers in different Government departments especially Jal Shakti Department, Power Development Department and others is pivotal but unfortunately these important functionaries are left on the mercy of God and are receiving worst ever discrimination in the hands of LG Administration and BJP”, Aam Aadmi Party said.
It further added that daily wagers are on protest since months and they are projecting their genuine demands which even include payment of salaries and regularisation but it is pathetic to see that Jammu and Kashmir Government busy in beating drums of development has failed to such an extent that it cannot even solve the problems of daily wagers.
Depriving these employees of their salaries on Diwali is like bringing black Diwali and Jammu and Kashmir Government did this for these daily wagers.
Aam Aadmi Party further mentioned in the press note about its priority towards daily wagers adding that in Punjab, daily wagers have been regularised in one go which completely shows the concern of AAP towards them and this model of regularisation and job policy for daily wagers will be replicated in Jammu and Kashmir also once AAP comes into power.
