REASI, Nov 17: Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College (GGZSMDC) dominated in the ongoing Inter-College Fencing Championship, organised by Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here today.
On Day-2, the four events were played in Foil men’s team, Epee women’s team, Sabre men’s team and Sabre women’s team in the presence of chief guest, Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal GDC Reasi.
In the foil men’s final, GGZSM Degree College Reasi beat PG, Department University of Jammu by 15-9 points, while GDC Boys (Udhampur) and GDC Paloura shared bronze in this category.
In epee, GCW Parade defeated GGZSMDC Reasi in the final by 15-07, whereas GDC Katra and GDC Samba won bronze, jointly.
In sabre men’s team, GGZSMD College and GDC Paloura entered in the finals, whereas GDC Boys Udhampur and GDC Pouni shared bronze in this event.
In sabre women’s team: GGZSMDC Reasi beat GCW Parade by 15-09, while GDC Pouni and GDC Katra won bronze, jointly.
The bouts were conducted by the technical panel comprising Ajay Kumar, Ranchan Sabarwal, Javed Ahmed Choudhary, Vir Sangram, Mokshi Sharma, Archana Devi, Rajay Kumar, Rohit Panjgotra, Ravinder Kumar and Kamal Kumar.
Others present on the occasion were Sardar Padam Dev Singh, Prof Anchal Raj, Dr Samriti Aggarwal, Dr Chaman Lal, Dr Mukesh Kumar, Prof Gourav, Dr Reena Rani, Prof Upasana, Dr Amit Bali, Prof Sunil Mangotra, Shashi Kumar Sharma and Prof. Kewal Krishan.
