Govt committed to promote sports: Ansari

SRINAGAR, May 12: Minister for IT, Youth Services and Sports Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari today said the Government will facilitate more and more sports events in the state to give opportunity to youth to showcase their talent.
He said the Government is committed to promote sports in every nook and corner of the State so that the youth of the State are able to utilize their positive energy.
Minister was speaking at the concluding ceremony of a cricket tournament organized by private school at SK Stadium Srinagar. He also watched the second innings of the final match played between Burn Hall School and Dr AGM City School.
Burn Hall School team beat Dr AGM School by six wickets. Earlier, Dr AGM School team scored 153 runs in 20 overs. Kamran Ahmad was the top scorer with 46 runs.
Ansari called upon the youth to come forward and participate in different sports activities organized by the Youth Services and Sports and other institutions and clubs of the State.
Later, he gave away awards and trophies to the winners and the runner ups.
