Govt committees to scrutinize NGOs’ proposals for funding

JAMMU, Mar 7:  The State Government has constituted divisional level committees for recommending the proposals of NGOs seeking financial assistance from the  Government of India under Consumer Welfare Fund.
These two divisional level committees will be headed by the concerned Director CAPD and their members comprise Jt Director CAPD, Financial Advisor/ Chief Accounts officer CAPD, District Social Welfare Officer (concerned district) and District Evaluation and Statistical Officer of the concerned district.
The committee will receive the proposals from the NGOs in their respective divisions for proposed examination, scrutiny and also to ensure their existence, working and registration.
It will ascertain credentials and post experience of the NGO in conducting awareness camps in various fields besides identifying the areas where awareness programmes are truly required.
