Govt constitutes State Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee

JAMMU, Aug 17: The State Government has accorded sanction for constitution of a State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (SLVMC), which will be headed by the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
The committee shall supervise, exercise vigilance and monitor the implementation of programmes of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, monitor the flow of funds through various channels, including allocations, releases, utilization and unspent balances.
The committee shall take all necessary measures to ensure that programme benefits flow to the rural poor in full measures and shall also ensure that the schemes are implemented in accordance with the guidelines.
Besides, the committee shall look into complaints received in respect of the implementation of the programmes and shall consider Evaluation Reports, Area Officers Reports, and National rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) reports for necessary follow up action.
MPs, MLAs and MLCs, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, Thupstan Chhewang, Jugal Kishore, Mohd Yousuf Bhat, R S Pathania, Shah Mohd Tantray, Deldan Namgyal and Kamal Verma are among the members of this committee while Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj is the Member Secretary.
Sanjeev Arora of Regional and Urban Development Agency and Romesh Lal Khajuria of Sanjay Nagar Jammu besides four unofficial members, to be nominated by the Government, and representatives of NGOs, are other members of the committee.
