Govt drops charges against Khawaja

JAMMU, Mar 12: Government today dropped charges of Date of Birth tampering against the then Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja.
According to an order issued by Mohammad Ashraf Bukhari, Secretary, General Administration Department, charge sheet was served to Khawaja on the basis of a complaint regarding manipulation of Date of Birth. After examination of reply furnished by Khawaja, Farooq Ahmed Peer, Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj was appointed as Inquiry Officer to look into the charges framed against Khawaja.
The Inquiry Officer, in his report, has held that no interpretation or tampering has taken place with the DoB certificate of the officer issued by the Board of School Education.
Accepting the Inquiry Report, Government today dropped charges framed against Khawaja and closed the case.
