JAMMU, Feb 18: On the direction of High Court, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir today constituted a high level committee with regard to appointment/engagement of coaches for various sports disciplines in the Union Territory of J&K.
Headed by Principal Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department as its Chairman, the committee shall work out the overall requirement of coaches in each sports discipline and suggest how coaching can be improved, given the vacancies available in the department.
The committee shall also suggest a broad scheme for capacity building of coaches on modern lines for next five years along with the budgetary requirement.
Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department; Secretary, GAD; Secretary, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs; Director General, Youth Services & Sports Department; Secretary, Sports Council and representative of Finance Department are members of the committee, which shall submit its report within a period of one month.
