Govt improving socio-economic condition of far flung area people: Haq

MAHORE, June 8: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan today reiterated that Government is committed for the development of remote and far flung areas besides improving the socio-economic conditions of the people living in these areas.
The Minister was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a Panchayat Ghar building at Mahore today.
Maintaining that the Government has ensured overall and need based development by ensuring that the benefit of the various welfare schemes percolates to the ground level, Haq called upon the people to come forward to avail the maximum benefits of the various schemes.
He asked Panchs and Sarpanchs to work in synergy with the officers of various departments in formulating and implementation of various development programmes.
Exhorting upon the officers to improve upon the delivery system, he said that it is duty of the administration to deliver efficiently and make sure that benefit of various schemes reach to the people at the grass root level. Funds are not a constraint for development as liberal funding is being given by the Central Government , now it is up to the administration to work with dedication and zeal so that public grievances are addressed in a time bound manner, he added.
MLA Gulabgarh-Mumtaz Khan, Dr Mehboob Beig, Director RDD Jammu-Manohar Lal Raina, ACD Reasi-Suram Chand Sharma, DPO Reasi-Susheel Khajuria, district officers, members of PRIs from various panchayats of adjoining areas and large number of local people were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Minister also met various delegation of public at Reasi and Arnas. The delegations put forth various demands related to the rural development and other grievances like construction of new school buildings, bridges, restoration of PMGSY, PWD roads, ration and kerosene availability, irrigation canals and PHE schemes in a time bound manner.
Haq assured the delegations that all their genuine demands would be addressed in the coming days.
