13th District Speedball C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Sept 6: 13th District Speedball Championship organized by J&K Sports Speedball Association concluded at Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School Roop Nagar, here today.
Around 130 players from various schools of Jammu district took part in the event. Earlier, Chief Spokesperson, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha J&K-UT Ritika Treahan who was the chief guest during inaugural ceremony, while Tarun Uppal (District President SpeedBall Association) and Munish Gupta were guests of honour. Ritika appreciated the performance of students and applauded the organizers. She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to promoting sports and the Central Government has increased the budget allocation by Rs 335 crores in comparison to the previous budget. She said ‘Khelo India’ is the biggest grassroots-level sports talent identification and nurturing scheme running in India today under leadership of PM Modi.
Suniana Sharma Mehta, Joint Director Tourism, Aastha Nanda ( Secretary JKSBA) and Deepali Handa, Principal Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School were among those who presided over the function.
The gold medal winners were Aadvi, Muskan, Tavisha, Aradhya, Jivya, Goutam, Prikshit, Deepanshu, Shiv Om Bhalla, Ridhwan, Vinayak, Balvir, Ridhima, Krish, Rajveer Singh, Prafful and Shivam.
The silver medal winners were Shruti, Kinza, Ananya, Mannat, Sabha, Manika, Shivanshu, Harshu Vardan, Ridhma, Musa Gani, Manit, Aditya, Diksha, Sushant, Manav and Akshit. The overall championship was won by DPS Nagbani, Cambridge International School became 1st Runner up and Crescent Public School remained as 2nd Runner up in the championship.
The matches were officiated by Sahil Janjua, Sandeep Sharma, Amar Kushal,Sahil Kaith, Vishal, Gurvansh Choudhary, Dhruv Choudahry under supervision of Sunny Nanda (General Secretary J&K Sports Speedball Association).
