Govt neglecting Jammu in all matters: Khajuria

JAMMU, May 19: Jammu East MLA, Ashok Khajuria, today said that State is passing through very hard times as there seems to be no Government on ground as the people are crying for even basic amenities and the Government was least bothered, he said adding the plight of Jammuites is more worse.
Expressing concern over the pain and sufferings of the earth quake hit people of erstwhile Doda district, he said that mere air visits by VIPs and doing nothing in real sense for the affected families is yet another example of how the Government treats the people of Jammu Province.
He was speaking at a working committee meeting of Jammu district BJP, which was held here under the presidentship of Rajesh Gupta.
Over 60 members including district office bearers, Mandal presidents and their general secretaries, heads of Morchas and Cells attended the meet.
Earlier, Rajesh Gupta gave a detail of the programmes undertaken in the district during the last three months. He said that the people are facing lot of problems on account of power cuts, inadequate supply of ration, kerosene oil and drinking water, poor sanitation etc, adding the intentional delay by the Government in holding elections to JMC is adding to the problems.
State vice-president and District Prabhari, Usha Choudhary briefed about the issues taken up in the State Working Committee and the future programmes while State general secretary, Kavinder Gupta spoke in detail about the problems of Jammuites.
District general secretary, Sanjay Baru presented a resolution on local issues, which was seconded by district vice-president Arvind Gupta.
On the occasion, female office bearers and five Mandal presidents were also felicitated.
