Govt officials, others booked for fraud

JAMMU, Jan 16: Crime Branch Jammu has booked some Government officials and two others for cheating, and forging a fake Irrevocable General Power of Attorney.
The two accused have been identified as Amit Goel, son of Romesh Chander Goel of 90/3, Channi Himmat, Jammu and Majid Farid Shapoo, son of Farid Ahmed Shapoo of Mohalla Pasri Tehsil Bhaderwah, District Doda, at present Chowadhi, Jammu.
The case was registered on a complaint lodged by Deep Kumar who alleged that the accused Amit Goel had executed fake and fictitious Irrevocable General Power of Attorney in the court of Ld. Sub-Registrar, Jammu by way of impersonation in order to usurp the land of the complainant. He had further alleged that he never appeared before the Court of law for the registration of the said Irrevocable General Power of Attorney. On this a probe was initiated in Crime Branch, Jammu and during the course of enquiry, it was found that the Irrevocable General Power of Attorney with forged signatures of the complainant was got registered by a person impersonating as Deep Kumar and Amit Goel who were identified by one Majid Farid Shapoo.
The investigations spelled out that the accused persons with malafide intentions hatched a criminal conspiracy and in connivance with some Govt officials got prepared fake/ fabricated Irrevocable General Power of Attorney and got the same registered by resorting to fraudulent means in order to cause wrongful loss to the complainant Deep Kumar and wrongful gains to themselves.
On this a formal case was registered against the accused under Section 420, 423, 465, 466, 467, 468 and 120-B RPC r/w section 5(2) P.C Act Svt. 2006.
