JAMMU, Oct 15: Exactly a week after the Excelsior carried a report on delay in adjustment of 93 promoted DySPs, the Government today adjusted all of them and, in the process, effected transfers and postings of 99 police officers.
The 93 DySPs cleared for promotion as Incharge SPs by the Departmental Promotion Committee on June 6, 2013 and confirmed by the Cabinet vide Home Department’s Order No. 270 of 2013 dated July 4, 2013, were formally posted as Additional SPs today vide Government Order No. Home-429 of 2013 dated 15.10.2013.
Excelsior had on October 8 reported about adhocism in police department as nearly 150 officers were working on junior posts despite their promotions.
Even after today’s order, some DIGs were working as SSPs while Senior Prosecuting Officers continued on the post of Prosecuting Officers. A number of posts of SPs and DySPs have fallen vacant with today’s order. A DIG and some SSPs were already awaiting adjustment in the Police Headquarters.
