Govt orders ‘no enquiry’ yet in Kishtwar clashes

 

JAMMU: The State Government has not yet ordered official enquiry into the Kishtwar incident.

An emergency meeting of Jammu-based political parties and  civil society was called this evening here, which was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand.

Minister for PHE Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Culture and Horticulture Raman Bhalla and National Conference Provincial President, Jammu Devinder Rana were also present in the meeting.

“No enquiry has been ordered yet into the incident,” an official told reporters.

He, however, said that the Army has been called and conducting a joint patrolling with the local police in the region.

“We have also imposed curfew in the district and Army has  been called in view of the prevailing situation,” the official added.

Additional 150 Army men and as many police personnel have been deployed in the district and measures are being taken to avoid  any untoward incident tonight, he informed. (AGENCIES)
