RAJOURI, Sept 26: The Literary and Cultural Committee in collaboration with Department of Political Science and NSS Unit of Government PG College Rajouri organized an Inter College Declamation Contest here today.
Principal of the College Prof (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Prof Mohd Iqbal Raina Convener Cultural and Literary Committee of the College coordinated the programme.
On this occasion, five colleges from District Rajouri participated including Government PG College Rajouri, GDC Darhal, GDC Thannamandi, GDC Budhal and GDC Nowshera.
Iram Gafoor of GDC Rajouri bagged 1st position whereas Irfan Khan of GDC Rajouri and Rabia Kouser of GDC Thannamandi stood 2nd and 3rd respectively in this declamation contest. Prof. Amjid Ali Baber Department of Urdu coordinated the event whereas Dr Masood Ahmed from Department of Geology rendered the technical support.
In the formal welcome address, Prof. Mohd Iqbal Raina Convener Cultural and Literary Committee highlighted the relevance of Gandhian thoughts in the present time.
Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Javaid Ahmed Qazi aware the students about the lifestyle and simplicity of Mahatma Gandhi.
Dr. Bashir Ahmed Head Department of Physics, Prof. Abdul Karim HOD Computer Applications and Dr. Abdul Haque Naimi HOD Urdu were the judges of the occasion.
Other present on the occasion were Dr Shamim Akhter HoD Zoology, Dr Mohd Saleem Wani Department of English, Prof. Assadullha Khan, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Prof. Zaheer Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Sajar Malik, Dr. Mohd Jameel, Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone, Prof. Khalid Hussain Bhatti, Prof. Amjid Ali Bhatti and Prof. Altaf Hussain.
In the end, Prof Iqbal Raina presented the formal vote of thanks.
