Govt PG College wins overall trophy of Athletic C’ship

RAJOURI, Nov 14: Government PG College emerged winner and clinched overall trophy of Rajouri District Athletics Championship, organised by District Athletics Association under the aegis of J&K Amateur Athletics Association and in collaboration with Department of Physical Education PG College, here today.
The championship was inaugurated by Prof AR Choudhary, president District Rajouri Athletics Association, wherein around 235 athletes took part from different parts of the district. Prof Farooq Ahmed Mirza, Vice-principal of the host College was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
The competition was conducted under supervision of captain Tanwir Ahmed, Assistant Physical Director PG College Rajouri, whereas Sahil Raina was the organising secretary and Nadeem Mir Assistant Sports Officer GMC Rajouri, Mohd Arshad (PEM), Ketan Bakshi, Rakesh Singh, Yasir Mehmood, Mohd Shoket, Anees Rehman, Gourav Sharma, Rajan Sharma, Mohd Mustafa, Mohd Rafiq and Parvez Musharraf were among the technical panel of experts.
In open category (100 mtrs) Madav Sharma, Abhishek Kumar and Irfan Ahmed stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in 200 meters, Angraiz Singh, Mohd Ayaz Khan and Ritik Sharma clinched top three positions and in 400 metres, top three places were clinched by Madid Khan, Akshay Kumar and Inam Ul Haq, besides in 800 meters, Kiran Kumar, Amit Kumar and Sagar Sharma remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in 1500 meters, Parvaiz Musharraf, Anayat Choudhary and Mohd Kabir secured top three places respectively.
In under-18 (200 meters), Mohd Razik, Sahil Sharma and Ritik Singh stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in 400 meters, top three paces were clinched by Balvinder Singh, Mohd Shakeel and Mohd Kabir respectively.
In under-16 (100 meters), Kanish Puri, Mohd Shahnawaz and Rudraksh Sandral stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in 300 meters, Kartik Singh, Pallav Sharma and Badal Sharma won top three positions and in under-14 (60 meters) Pulkit Singh, Priyal Puri and Basu Gupta bagged first three places, besides in shot put, Marooj Choudhary, Raju Puri and Arjun Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd, while in javelin throw, Marooj Choudhary, Arjun Kumar and Ajay Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
