JAMMU, Dec 20: The Sports wing of Government Polytechnic Jammu conducted a “Road Race” for boys and girls of various engineering and non-engineering branches of the institute at MA Stadium, Jammu.
There were forty students who exhibited their strength and endurance in the five kilometres run for boys and two kilometres run for girls. In the first phase of the event, all the departments conducted trials to select the athletes from each branch. Principal Er. Arun Bangotra applauded all the participants during the Prize distribution function for taking part in the competition.
. He also apprised the students, faculty and staff about the Viksit Bharat @2047, which is the vision of Government of India to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th years of its Independence
In the Boys 5km run, Japneet Pal Singh of 5thSemester of Information Technology Department stood in first place, second position was won by Rakesh Kumar of 1stSemester of Travel and Tourism Department and third position clinched by Akashdeep of 5th semester of Civil Engineering Department.
In the Girls two km category the race was won by Preety Kumari of 5th semester of Civil engineering department, second place won by Nancy of 3rd semester of Architecture department and third place won by Komal Bharti of 1st Semester of Travel and Tourism Department.
