JAMMU, July 28: Asking opposition leaders to adopt a constructive approach in highlighting critical areas of the coalition Government and be responsive towards people’s sufferings, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former member J&K State Advisory Board for Gujjars and Bakerwals, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that Government was alive to people’s issues and is doing its best to mitigate their sufferings, provide them with basic civic amenities and stand by them in adversities.
In a statement here, Choudhary Hamid said late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had floated PDP with sole aim of giving people a viable alternative to corrupt and incapable forces and the incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is working with that very spirit only. The previous rulers had looted State of its resources, lost trust of people and always played with their sentiments which PDP will never do.
Appealing for calm, he said that PDP is a movement which is striving to raise socio-economic standards of people and give them an honourable life that is free from corruption and nepotism.
The PDP leader said violence in Kashmir has been painful and losses thus, occurred are irreparable.
He alleged that sole aim of opposition is to keep fuelling unrest only to return to power for doing all wrongs which it had been doing earlier. PDP, he asserted will not let the reins of this state go in the hands of incapable forces which had time and gain betrayed its people and added to their miseries.
Urging people and party workers to strengthen hands of party Chief, Mehbooba Mufti, Choudhary Hamid said, ‘we all have to collective steer this State out to turmoil and return peace to it’.
