JAMMU, July 16: Coming together on the issue of the adjustment of Masters working by the designation of Head Teachers in hundreds of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) upgraded schools of the State, three teachers organizations have set a deadline for adjustment of Masters before July 25.
These teachers’ bodies, namely Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar -e -Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF), J&K Masters Forum and J&K Teachers Forum held a joint meeting at the Directorate (Education) Kashmir and held discussion over the adjustment of Masters.
The representatives expressed deep resentment over the issue of Masters, who are still unadjusted on clear vacancies despite SAC decision. “Their non-adjustment is severely affecting the routine academic activities in the educational institutions and these Masters are bearing the brunt due to callous approach of the State administration”, said JKReTTF Chairman Farooq Ahmad Tantray.
He said that SAC has approved a road map for 4200 promotions of Teachers to Masters and Lecturers to adjust Head Teachers but unfortunately the higher ups in the Department of Education are in deep slumber.
Speaking on the occasion, Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Chairman JK Masters Forum, said that majority of these Masters are without salaries from last four months and their families are reeling under turbulent times due to financial constraints. Showkat Ahmad Bhat – Chairman Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum also spoke on the occasion and expressed his concern over the issues of Masters (Head Teachers).
Later, the representatives from the three Teacher’s bodies came out with a joint programme to give the authorities time up-to July 25 for adjustment of these Masters. “If the issue remains unresolved before the deadline, there will be a joint protest programme after the expiry of the deadline,” the joint statement said.
Besides Chairman Tantray, JKReTTF delegation was represented by Vice Chairman Talib Hussain, Chief Spokesperson Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, State Secretary Zahoor- ud-Din Baigh and chief organiser Javaid Gul.
