SAMBA, Aug 9: Claiming that Micro and Small Scale Industry has been facing crisis in the region, Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association president, Harbinder Singh has urged upon the State Administration to come to the rescue of this sector.
In an urgent meeting conveyed at Samba today, Harbinder Singh president, Ajay Jagotra vice president, Darshan Lal general secretary of the Association urged the Government to support the Micro and Small Scale Industries in their tough time in the J&K. Mentioning about the uncertainty prevailing in the mind of Micro and Small scale industry in Jammu region due to order No.4 DI&C-J of 2019 dated 6.8.2019 issued by Director Industries & Commerce, Singh mentioned that this has created panic among the unit holders who are already facing tough time because of the notices served by Banks and now by Director Industries and Commerce.
He said the Unit holders are already pleading the Government departments like PDD, as it was in connection with the Amnesty scheme for industrialists, small industries and sick industries in the State Government’s Budget Announcement 2018-19 – exemption from interest, fines and surcharges on the arrears of the State Government. PDD is charging interest on interest and cutting electricity connection of Micro Industries and forcing it to shut down or to become sick unit. He said the demand charges and interest should be waived off.
It is pertinent to mention here that the present position of Industrial Sector is more serious due to sharp decline in the Industrial growth specially in the Jammu region post GST Regime due to non availability of State Fiscal Incentives to the new units and units under substantial expansion resulting shifting of capital from J&K to other States near to the Market. Such orders would force closure of many units. It is a deliberate attempt of the concerned Officials for the reason best known to them.
It has been resolved in the meeting that Govt should take the measures to provide the relief to all the Industrial Units for their survival. The Association also urged that the micro industry should be kept out of SARFAESI Act.
