Govt taking State towards undeclared bankruptcy: Vakil

SRINAGAR, May 4: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today said that present PDP-BJP Government is taking the State towards undeclared bankruptcy and plunging it into a deep economic instability.
He said prior to forging alliance with BJP, leaders of PDP played the ploy of liberal funding from Modi Government and tried to build the castles in air and befooled innocent masses of the State.
Vakil said that Government must come clear on the present fiscal position of the State because all the developmental activities have come to halt and people all over the State are suffering from basic amenities besides Government employees of most of the departments are without salaries for couple of months due to which their life has become miserable for want of sustenance.
He was addressing party workers at Nadihal and Budden in Rafiabad, District Baramulla.
Vakil said people at the helm of affairs must put the facts at fore which led to the present deep financial crisis and delay in obtaining financial allocations from the centre well in time. He said that how PDP-BJP alliance emphasizing upon so called development and prosperity can be justified when the work on ongoing developmental projects started by the previous regime stands abandoned half way.
Former Minister said that the Chief Minister must himself explain the reason for delay in convening DDB meetings so that the credibility of this Government could be proved for time being.
Vakil declared the efforts of PDP-BJP Government in respect of the rehabilitation of flood affected as half hearted and inadequate. He said that relief announced by the Prime Minister himself has not been released by the Union Government till date and talk of full rehabilitation during the present regime is completely impossible.
Among others present were senior Congress leaders Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Ghulam Nabi Shah, Advocate Javid Masoodi, Youth Congress leader Sheikh Manzoor, etc.
